Thank Goddess for motorcycle rides. I must say, I. Am. Spoiled. No if's, and's or but's about it. What started out as a quick ride to Biloxi for ice cream, turned out to be a 12 hour long ride. That gave me PLENTY of time to think about where I want Raven's book to go. But, it also caused a ton of questions in my mind about my characters in the Murder. Each one has a specific breed they are, how Raven met them, her emotional connection to them, etc. When it came down to it, I started confusing myself.
Of course, if anything could go wrong with the ride, it did. My husband's bike decided it was time to have a hiccup. We lost all gauges, no fuel gauge, no headlight, no brake light. Yup. So, the boys put in a new fuse. Thought everything was great, even though we almost ran out of gas, when Murphy's Law decided to raise its ugly head, and the fuse blew instantly. We raced home, trying to get the bike to the shop before the boys ran out of light on the way home.
While they fixed it, a friend came over and we drank a pot of coffee and chatted. Okay, I chatted, she listened. I had to bounce my idea's off of someone. I'm glad I did. I now know where to go, what breed a couple of characters are, which one is completely unique and I've NEVER seen done (besides me, cause I rock like that). I've even meshed out where I'm taking the first book, who the comic relief is, cause with a character as serious as Raven is, you need that laugh, and how I'm doing it all.
Thanks, Mynda... I needed that ear.

Vacation
Well, I'm on vacation. My plans? Laundry, house cleaning (yeah right) and writing. I've got some changes to make to the first couple of chapters, but I had an epiphany.
Yup, you guessed it. Sitting on the back of the bike today, on the way home from a Nutter Butter Blizzard, my mind decided it was Raven time. I came up with some awesome idea's to incorperate. Pretty much we know it's about Raven and her nine partners in crime. Every element is involved, ranging from fae to demons to vamps to lycans. Not even Death is safe from my pen, or should I say keyboard? I know my basic plot, my outline ... where I want it to go, and it'll take me about nine to thirteen books to complete it, but in the end, you will fall in love with Raven's world.
I've decided to go with a semi faery tale history, mixed with actual history for the characters, each one having a significant history and past to tie into what each of them is. I didn't want the first book to be about Raven, but it seems her voice must be heard, she's bitch slapped me enough to know that this book is a scene setting and history of several characters, and the base for the rest of the books... maybe.

Monster
Listening to Skillet this morning gave me an idea for "From Hel, With Love". I know the comic relief are the "devils" on Ravens shoulders, but a brand new demon or at least some young uncoordinated being would be interesting. Hmmm....

Music of Raven
Seems I've come to a conclusion. Raven needs music. Everytime I hear a song, I think about how it fits Raven or one of her Murder. The latest song was Staind's new one. Go figure. Now if I could narrow it down to a main theme song, we'd be good to go!
